Osservatorio Donna, born in 2000, is the first service opened, targeted to all the women in the province of Milan, and is set out in 4 activities:
1) A confidential FREE TOLL NUMBER, 800.097.999, that women can contact to ask whatever kind of question. You can call from Monday to Friday, from 9 to 19: you’ll be welcomed by operators specifically skilled and trained, offering you not only an attentive listening, but also:
♦ careful information about the territorial services;
♦ guidance on the suitable paths to face personal and professional situations, familiar and complex;
♦ in specific cases, professional counselling given by our experts in civil and domestic law, psychology, welfare, labour law, infertility.
2) A DATABASE – partly available on our website – including more than 5000 services and resources existing in the territory, gets daily updating. This makes Osservatorio Donna able to introduce women to the associations, councils, health services and private or public authorities operating in the different fields.
3) IN-DEPTH WORKSHOPS are periodically organized to learn in detail subjects and issues of particular interest and relevance (family law, female health, etc). In the workshops, which are open to men and women and last two hours, experts analyse a subject in a simple, practical and thorough way.
4) THE NUMBERS OF WOMEN, an online section where to find statistics and the most updated studies into gender issues. The availability of gender statistics at local level is not only an essential requirement to read and properly understand the nature and importance of the trends affecting the life of women and of all the citizens on the territory, but is also the basis of functional knowledge and the tool supporting the decision-makers and the actors in charge of the local development.
